Altes Braeuhaus in Passau

The food was delicious you could order and pick it up. Typical Bavarian cuisine with everything that goes with it and totally reasonable prices such as roast pork with dumplings and sauerkraut salad and beer sauce for 9.50 is great .. I will recommend it and thumbs up ?. See you next time in Passau ..

The food was wonderful only I have to say that they are quite blunt and you can't cut the meat properly. You could change that. Otherwise it was wonderful.

Had dinner here on September 17th 2020. The 'pancake soup' was too salty but tasty. The 'knuddel' could not be eaten. More like a ball of glue. The meat was bland and the schnitzel was burnt.

We were here for lunch today on September 20, 2020 at lunchtime. Fast, friendly, attentive service. Special requests when ordering were received with a friendly, of course (we have seen it differently in another brewery). Food was just delicious, had two different roast dishes. Good portion of tasty sauce and very good value for money. Wasn't here for the last time.

We have now put our regulars' table down there. Good food at the right prices. You always respond to special requests a la food or table reservations and you try your best. In addition, it is worth mentioning that the wait staff are really on the ball. Keep it up !!!!

Was on a day trip. Not recommended. 3 strikes. I meant to give just one star but their beer is good to earn one more star. Strike 1: we sat down for a while without being provided menu. After a long while, the waitress came and asked if we knew what we wanted to order. Even you’re offering online menu, you COULD have reminded the guests. Strikes 2: after we ordered the main dishes, we were informed that we had to wait for one hour for our food. Luckily it took only 45 mins. On top of it, we ordered onion steak with pan fried potatoes. The potatoes were too salty even to swallow. Strikes 3: paying with credit card is possible but the guests have to go inside. No problem. But we only got the amount we should pay without even being given the bill (at least to check how many drinks we ordered?). I understand that it might be a chaos in summer vacation season. I’m totally ok with being attended later. BUT that doesn’t mean I deserve bad serving.

Very nicely located restaurant on the Danube. Nice and friendly staff. The food on the whole good and nice salads. My food was unfortunately not that great, I had the goulash, which was quite good, but had cooked flies in the sauce. Again, this can all happen and I am not a pea counter either. But what I find absolutely outrageous that a non-smoker apologized to one of the restaurants, nor had the food removed from the bill! Be ashamed of this. I am often in Passau, you can do that with tourists !! You don't see me and my family anymore! Good luck!

Good Bavarian economy, nice menu with a good selection, including beers. Food was tasty and reasonably priced, but small portions for adults. Service pleasantly friendly and attentive.

This inn is located in the old town of Passau. It is located at a roundabout at the Luitpold Bridge, but the traffic there is manageable. The food is what you would expect in a typical Bavarian inn - hearty and good, as is the beer. I was there with my little daughter, the children's menu was also good. She ate dumplings with sauce, which was good too. Corona: Salt, pepper and cutlery are served, you feel safe

I would give 2.5 stars. The restaurant is located in the old city center. Staff is friendly and fast. The food unfortunately is only mediocre. Some ingredients taste and look like they have been sitting around for too long (like some sausages for the Brotzeitbrett or the Spätzle). Warm dishes were quite salty, the Rahmschnitzel was rather bland in taste. Prices are acceptable for this, but as conclusion I would give less than 3 stars.

Nice place to have a beer with very good service nice terrace to watch the sun down. Go here to grab traditional Bavarian Brotzeit or some nice Schmankerl with a good mug if beer.

An ancient very cozy brewery with very tasty dishes, good beer and very good apricot schnapps. The waitresses are very attentive and extremely friendly! Recommended for everyone.

The wait is one the worst that I have experienced! The staff are really nice, but the owner needs to get more staff to help. So if you don't like the wait too much, I don't recommend this. As for the food, I ordered goulash with bavarian dumplings, after a wait of 45 min at least I can say that the food was very good. Tasty. And I could see from other customers orders that they serve good food here. The menu is diverse. I gave it 3 stars because of the waiting involved.

A tip for the spring evenings, as the guest can still enjoy the last rays of sunshine in the cozy and green outdoor area. The beer supply was adequate for a brewhouse and the menu offered a good selection of dishes. The service was friendly, welcoming and fast. The dishes ordered by us from the portion of clear and priced in my view a bit excessive.

The food is delicious, the quality excellent, the portions are pleasantly large and the staff friendly. About the ambience you probably do not have much to write. A dream. Always happy.

Food is solid and tasty but not outstanding. Very friendly staff - they are happy to take special wishes into account. The kids portions are quite big (same is true for the grown up portions).

We were here short after christmas. Great duck! great Knoedel! And the rosemary sauce....omg. It is the chrismas special, so I don't know if they will have it in other time. Anyways, was a nice experience. The food my boyfriend ordered was also big portion, big salad, taste is o.k. accordng to him. He said my duck was awesome but his meal was only nice. Oh, we sit on the stage part, I have to say, the long bench was kinda dangerous, the wood splatter poked through my stocking(I had thick, thermo one) and made a hole on it. I have to go to the rest room to take it out cuz it stuck inside the stocking and kept poking on my back thigh... Should be nicer if the furniture had took good care once in a while. But nice local place and recommend to go.

One of the better places I went in Passau. The Arcobrau hell was fantastic.

Very good schnitzel!!

They are really bad at planning in the kitchen. The menu is just for show as they had "sold out" most of what they are supposed to offer. Recomends strongly to go find a different reaturant. This place is only good for drinks.

Summa summarum: - Not a tourist trap - Menus in English also available - Always enough space This place is the genuine Bavarian experience and it was recommended by the locals. The restaurant is said to be one of the oldest that you can find from Passau. The food served here is the really good and the staff is also friendly and speaks English. There is terrace at the front and plenty of room inside. Toilets are located left from the entry.

Wonderful experience! My son had his first beer here. We had a pot of sausages and soft pretzels.
